Self Service versus Full Service Move

A self service move is when a moving company transport your stuff from the old house to the new home. You are responsible to pack and load the belongings onto the truck and then unload them once the truck is at the new home.

A full service move is when the movers load and unload the goods from the truck. A lot of people usually choose with full service moves when hiring professional movers. Full service move does get a little expensive but moving heavy valuable items is recommended to be left up to professional movers.

What is cheaper?
Deciding to go with self service or full service movers is important. Even though a self service move could appear to be cheaper but remember to factor in the cost of travel, lodging, meals, gas, truck rental and additional help to help load your belongings. Tally up how much the estimated cost will be and compare that against quotes from professional movers. Remember to factor in the time of a self service move as well.
